The opposition
Everton U21’s compete in Premier League 2 and play their home matches at Walton Hall Park in Liverpool. The ground was also previously used for Women’s Super League matches before they moved to Goodison Park.
Everton were in Group A with Tamworth last season, where the Lambs ran out group winners, only conceding one goal. Everton finished fifth and the highest out of the academy sides.
With one game to go in the group, Tamworth sit two places above Everton in the group, and would need to win the game by eight goals in order progress over Middlesbrough U21.
In Premier League 2, Everton currently sit 13th between Brentford and Brighton, having won two games, drawn two, and lost one.
The club has a track record of developing top talent, including Victor Anichebe, Shane Duffy and Anthony Gordon. Goalkeeper George Pickford is currently in the squad, but is not related to England and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Peaks Speaks: Everton PL2
“It’s another game. It hurts to concede that late [on Saturday], as it would’ve been a good point ground out. Ultimately, we’ve got to bounce back, try and get some smiles back on faces and a bit of confidence. That’s all you can do in football, it doesn’t feel sorry for you and your next game is the most important. That’s Tuesday night. We’ve done well in the competition, we’ve had some good performances so far, and there’ll be opportunities for others to get minutes as well, so we look forward to that.
