HOWLEY "FEELING GOOD" AFTER RETURN FROM INJURY

Tamworth FC

Midfielder Ryan Howley was pleased to have returned to the pitch with Tamworth after being out of action for a number of weeks due to injury.

He was substituted on in the second half of Saturday afternoon’s game which saw the Lambs fall to a narrow defeat at home to Woking.

Regarding his injury, Howley said: “I’m feeling good.

“45 minutes today, nice to just get back into some longer minutes. Certainly worked hard today, looking forward to getting back on the pitch more often now.”

However, Howley felt that Saturday’s tight game could’ve swung either way. The cagey affair saw a game of very few chances from either side, but Harrison Sohna turned his effort into the net at the start of added time to give the visitors three points.

He said: “A tough one to take, really.

“It was pretty even all game. They were probably more effective than us in the first half. We made a couple of changes to try and mix it up a little bit and get back into the game. It’s a tough one to take with a late goal like that. We had a couple of chances, but a difficult day.

“I think we had a bit more energy on Tuesday. We lacked a little bit of that today, but maybe that’s to be expected [with playing on] Tuesday/Saturday. It’s one of those close games, either team could’ve come out on top and unfortunately it wasn’t us today.

“We had the chances today. Credit to us, that’s the first game we’ve not scored in. Hopefully we can get back to scoring we did on Tuesday night. We got plenty of goals then and I’m sure we will going forward.”
