LAMBS BOLSTER FORWARD LINE

LAMBS BOLSTER FORWARD LINE

Tamworth FC27 Jun - 18:45

Two new attacking players join Tamworth.

Tamworth manager, Andy Peaks has added some formidable firepower to his forward line with the exciting signing of hotshot striker Jake Hutchinson.

The 24 year old won the golden boot after firing Folkestone Invicta to the Isthmian Premier Division title last term after netting 28 goals in all competitions and 24 in the league.

He’s aiming to keep his goal record going into the new season and help The Lambs launch their own title challenge.

Hutchinson said: “I’m hoping to carry on my goal scoring form and help contribute to what we all hope will be a successful season!

“I can’t wait to get going, get up to The Lamb and play in front of our fans in what is a very exciting season for the club.”

Peaks said: “Ever since Jake became available, I wanted to bring him to the club. He’s a natural finisher with a great goal-record and I hope that continues with us!”

It has certainly been a busy week for Peaks who has signed 10 new players since the club was taken over by American businessman Abdullah Ashraf last week. Hutchinson was his ninth recruit and was swiftly followed by Riccardo Calder who was signing number 10.

Calder has also become the third player to be signed from Brackley Town, following in the footsteps of teammates Morgan Roberts and Tyler Lyttle in making the switch to the Staffordshire club.

Calder said: “I’ll always bring energy on and off the ball! I love to be positive and direct whenever I get the chance to.

“I’m buzzing to be a part of this club and can’t wait to get started. As we all know the fans are a massive part of why the club will keep moving in the right direction.

“Let’s stick together as one and create some great memories. I’m looking forward to pre-season and meeting the fans!”

The Lambs boss added: “Ricky can play anywhere down the left side, he’s so strong and physical with a lovely left foot! He loves to take on his man, be direct and get balls in the box”

Both signings are looking to make an immediate impact as we start to prepare for the upcoming season with the whole squad fully focused on kicking off the first campaign under new owners DGI in fine style.
