On the back of the dramatic added time winner at home to Wealdstone seven days prior, Andy Peaks’ 21st positioned Lambs travelled to face Scott Davies’ 8th placed Shots but left The Recreation Ground with their tails between their legs.

Peaks made one change to the previous games’ line up with Tom McGlinchey coming in for Morgan Roberts on the right side of midfield and in glorious sunshine and in their away kit of cream shirts and claret shorts The Lambs kicked off towards the densely populated home covered terrace.
But with just 90 seconds on the clock they fell behind when a cross field ball found Brody Peart in space in the Lambs left back position and he took it away from the advance of Jas Singh to roll it home from 18 yards (1-0, 2 mins)
In the next home attack, soon after the restart, Marcus Wylie beat the Lambs back line as the ball was played through but the pace helped it reach Singh before the Shots man could get to it.
Peart got his head to a gentle chip and flick on, on 8 minutes and directed it straight at Singh from 6 yards and three minutes later Michee Efete crossed for Marcus Dananga but he couldn’t lunge far enough to make contact, unmarked, a few yards out.
A Ben Milnes corner after 16 minutes caused the home side to defend Jordan Cullinane-Liburd’s header and Milnes was lucky to escape a booking for a challenge on Dinanga on 19 minutes.
From Conor Lawless' freekick from the right touchline, the ball was headed on in the area and prodded home by Efete from a couple of yards out (2-0, 19 mins)
Singh was forced to take a shot at him when The Lambs defence allowed a quick break to find Hakeem Sandah on 23 minutes, and he smothered the tame shot.
Play had to stop on 25 minutes when Milnes took a blow to the head trying to get to the ball before Dinanga in midfield.
When the game restarted a rare Lambs attack saw McGlinchey and Donnelly play a neat one two but the former was unable to get his cross past the covering defender and was booked a minute later for a challenge in the Lambs right back position.
Following his earlier clash, Milnes was unable to continue and Oliver Dyson took his place with Singh taking over the captaincy and the Lambs keeper rose highest to catch a cross intended for Dinanga from the aforementioned freekick.
The home advantage increased on 33 though, when Peart crossed deep into the box and Dinanga connected at the far post, and it span over the line into the back of the net despite the best efforts of Jordan Cullinane-Liburd. (3-0, 33 mins)
As the first half continued, Tamworth continued to find it almost impossible to get anything in the final third, and on 44 minutes a foul on the Aldershot right wing set up Lawless with the dead ball.
His freekick was perfectly weighted into the box and Efete doubled his tally with a well timed header which he powered past Singh (4-0, 44 mins).
Nathan Tshikuna disrupted the purposeful run of Sandah as he neared the D in the second of eight added minutes.
Ryan Howley pulled up and was unable to continue forcing the second Lambs substitution of the game before the break, as Teo Kurtaran came on in midfield.
Lawless was booked for a crunching tackle on Tshikuna 6 yards out of the D on 53 minutes, and the Shots keeper Nick Hayes was forced to push his freekick away from clawing a goal back before the half time whistle blew.

After a double defensive Lambs substitution The Shots restarted proceedings but Tamworth responded quickly with a ball to Donnelly and Kiki Oshilaja was booked for a foul on McGlinchey on the edge of the area which gave Tshikuna another dead ball opportunity. He placed the freekick well enough but it rose over the wall and the right corner of bar and post.
At the other end Tom Parkes headed a cross intended for Dinanga high and out for a corner. Aldershot maintained the pressure from the flag kick and when Sandah sent the ball into the box from the left channel it was met by Dinanga at the far post and he diverted it back past Singh to double his tally and increase the lead further (5-0, 50 mins)
Tamworth did their best to press and a mazy run by Dyson down the left from the restart resulted in a chipped cross for Donnelly at in the six yard box but he couldn’t get direction on his header and Hayes’ goal was not troubled as it skipped out of play.
McGlinchey found space down the left on 55 minutes and cut in before curling a low strike out past the same post, while a quick attack from the home side ended with Sandah mishitting his right footed shot from 18 yards and Singh was untroubled by it.
A Kurtaran freekick on 58 minutes was just missed by the head of Parkes, and the defender was in action again denying Dinanga a header from another right wing cross a couple of minutes later.
Ben Acquaye forced Hayes to defend his near post from a low shot on 63 minutes, and Kurtaran’s corner was kept in the final third until Acquaye received it back but struck high and wide from distance.
After picking up a knock, Tshikuna made way for Morgan Roberts for the final 15 minutes and the home side were reduced to ten men on 78 minutes, when Oshilaja picked up a pointless second yellow for a foul on McGlinchey outside his own area and left Aldershot a man down for the rest of the game.
From the ensuing play Tom Handley tried his luck from distance on 80, but cleared the target and Roberts struck a low shot from the left of the area a minute later, but saw it go just wide of the mark.
Despite the numerical disadvantage Aldershot continued to try and command proceedings albeit without the same level of forward impetus, as Tamworth worked to exploit gaps and Kurtaran spotted one on 85 minutes but lifted his effort from 20 yards high over Hayes goal.
On 87 minutes an attempt from Roberts on the left of the area deflected off a defensive boot and out for a corner, and Handley fired it back in but Michael Stickland got in the way and cleared the danger.
The Lambs persistence paid off eventually when Acquaye’s shot from inside the area took a deflection past Hayes to reduce the arrears and blot the Shots copy book but it was nothing more than consolation (5-1, 90+1 mins) and the final whistle blew on a very disappointing defeat.
