Final Away Game!
Tamworth make the long trip south this weekend for their final away fixture of the 2025/26 Enterprise National League season, as Andy Peaks’ side face Eastleigh looking to finish the campaign strongly on the road.
The Lambs come into the game off the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to league leaders York City, in what was a performance full of positives despite the result. Tamworth matched the division’s top side for the vast majority of the contest and created several good opportunities, but ultimately couldn’t find the breakthrough.
Speaking after the game, Andy Peaks was proud of his side’s efforts, highlighting the work rate and quality shown against one of the strongest teams in the league. However, he was clear that turning performances into points remains the focus heading into the final games of the season.
With two league fixtures remaining alongside the Birmingham Senior Cup Final, Tamworth will be determined to maintain standards and build momentum heading into a big end to the campaign.
The Opposition
Eastleigh head into the weekend sitting comfortably above the relegation zone, currently seven points clear of the drop. Despite only one win in their last seven league matches, the Spitfires are not under immediate pressure but will still be keen to finish their season on a high.
They carry a clear attacking threat, with Aaron Blair leading the line impressively with 17 goals and 3 assists this season. Harvey Saunders has also contributed strongly, adding 9 goals and 5 assists, making him another key player Tamworth will need to keep quiet.
Head-to-Head
Recent meetings between the sides suggest a tightly contested fixture. Tamworth have won two of the last three encounters, although notably the home side has come out on top in each of those matches, a trend The Lambs will be looking to break this weekend.
Team News
Tamworth may have a few concerns following last weekend’s clash with York. Dan was forced off with a back issue, while Joe Rye suffered a head injury and Callum was also struggling with a knee problem. Despite the disruption, the squad adapted well, with players stepping into unfamiliar roles and continuing to compete at a high level.
