After the midweek victory that saw Tamworth take one step closer to defending their Birmingham Senior Cup title, Andy Peaks squad turned their attention back to the Enterprise National League, and welcomed near neighbours Solihull Moors to the Altair Group Community Stadium for their Good Friday meeting.
Chris Millington's side sat 6 points and two places behind The Lambs, themselves in 11th place, before kick off and Peaks' side would be looking to maintain their recent good form against the Moors, who had won just once in the last eleven outings, and also avenge the 7-1 reversal they suffered on Boxing Day.
In a late change on the Lambs bench, Haydn Hollis replaced Callum Cockerill-Mollett who was unable to be named after injury in the warmup.
Solihull got the game underway, with Tamworth attacking the Meadow Street End in the first half and forced a corner from a Worman strike which was headed away by Cullinane-Liburd and Singh took the flagkick.
Lynch chased down a backpass on 5, and Walker cleared but the strong wind brought it back and out of play for a Curley throw on the left and Creaney was unable to get his head cleanly on it and directed it behind.
At the other end on 7, Singh was pressured by Sho-Silva to put the ball behind for a corner and Creaney headed it away.
A strong run from Acquaye into the middle of the D on 13 saw him play a triangles with Lynch and Creaney but the final ball was just to long for Lynch to get back to and Walker was happy to let it go behind for a goalkick.
Sbarra rattled a drive from the left of the box off the top of the bar on 14 and he picked up a through ball to forge another chance on 16 but lifted his strike over the bar.
And on 17 Fairlamb started and ended a move out of defence, turning two Moors players inside out before picking the ball up again in the left channel before firing over the bar from 25 yards.
Cullinane-Liburd made headway down the left and chipped into the area for Creaney to head towards goal in the next move, but his looping effort over Walker dropped onto the roof of the net.
Play stopped on 18 as a minutes applause was observed on the terraces and the pitch in memory and respect for 18 year old Moors fan Paul Pike who sadly lost his life a few days prior to the game.
Creaney's cross from the right wing on 25 was only just cut out by French before Lynch could connect in the box and on 33 Lynch pulled it back, after good work by Fairlamb down the left, but it was headed away from danger for a corner on the right, by Green.
The ball eventually came to Milnes on the edge of the area and his strike was deflected behind for another corner on the left, which Mols met past the far post but cushioned his strike high and wide of the mark.
Sinpoue was booked for a trip on Acquaye as he turned of the edge of the left corner of the box on 37 and Kurtaran's freekick was headed away from Creaney for another Lambs corner but it was took long and came to nothing.
An overlap between Fairlamb and Acquaye resulted in a low ball to Creaney at the near post on 41, but his turn and chip over Walker drifted over the crossbar and out for a goalkick and Cox picked his spot from 30 yards from the left channel on 42, firing diagonally out past the far post without troubling Singh and one minute added time was shown at the end of the goalless first half .
HT: 0-0
After Moors made a change, the Lambs got the game back underway attacking the Castle End, and quickly forced a corner off a Kurtaran freekick which the same player took but it was headed away back to him, and his ball into the box was taken by Walker at height, above Creaney.
SBarra turned a shot from the edge the Lambs box past the left hand upright on 50, via a defenders touch, and Singh was brought down as the ball came in, halting play with a Tamworth freekick being awarded.
Osbourne struck the games first shot on target with a tame effort from 35 yards on 52 and Rye was forced to put the ball high and behind for a Moors corner on 53 which Osbourne sent long onto the head of Whitmore and Singh collected.
From his ball forwards Lynch curled a pass into the path of Acquaye in the left channel
The Lamb erupted a minute later though, after Kurtaran stole the ball off the Solihull defence in the right of the area and he chipped it to the back of the box onto the head of Creaney who directed it back towards the near post and it bounced once past Walker, off the post and into the net, to the delight of the home faithful. (1-0, 56 mins)
A foul my Mols on the left of the Lambs area on 67 gave Worman the deadball but Lynch was first to it and prevented a Moors chance.
Kurtaran was booked for a late challenge on 70 and Osbourne lined up the freekick once again which Lynch nodded away and behind with the held of Cullinane-Liburd, but the offside flag went up and prevented the Solihull corner.
On 73, a flowing Lambs move down the right wing and into the box involving Creaney, Kurtaran and Milnes cut the visiting defence in two, but the final ball at a stretch from Milnes curled up and over the crossbar.
Solihull substitute McFarlane turned and struck high and wide after Osbourne had found him in space in the box on 76 and Sbarra hit a low right footed shot at Singh from 20 yards on 78, as The Lambs prepared to make a double change for the final 10 minutes of the game.
An Osbourne corner caused problems in the box for the Lambs defence on 82 and the Moors kept pressing from the clearance until the ball eventually went out of play.
Obsourne was booked for preventing a Lambs freekick on 87 and the Lambs made a further change, with Isichei replacing Acquaye on the left wing.
Five minutes added time was shown by the fourth official, and Kurtaran set Creaney free into the left of the box on 92 forcing Walker to push the ball away from going in at the far post and what would undoubtedly have sealed victory for The Lambs.
However, there were still minute to play and Solihull refused to give up hope but continued to find The Lambs defence a tough nut to crack and the final whistle blew on a hugely deserved three home points.
