The Lambs returned home to the Altair Group Community Stadium after Saturday's away loss at Rochdale, and despite the defeat it was a narrow one and Andy Peaks was full of praise for his side's efforts against the league leaders.
And so Peaks and his squad welcomed Robbie Savage's 6th placed Rovers in their next Enterprise National League fixture.
The visitors got the game underway, at the second attempt, attacking the Castle End in the first half.
Singh got his first touch of the ball on 3 when McAllister set up Knowles with a low drive from 18 yards after a cross from the left skipped through to the right of the box and at the other end on 5 Fairlamb threaded it through for Acquaye but there was no one in the area to connect with his low cross across the edge of the 6 yards box.
A deep cross by Knowles from the right wing on 6 was headed well wide by Mellor and Digie sent a long ball for Lynch to sprint into on 8, but the off side flag prevented him from testing Isted in the Rovers goal.
Singh was tested though, by a dipping drive from Clarke from fully 30 yards on 9 and the Lambs keeper pushed it over the bar for a corner which Digie dealt with.
Lynch got past his marker to drill another low cross across the Rovers box on 12 but it travelled from left to right without a touch , and he was on the receiving end of a Fairlamb cross on 14, directing his header on target but also straight at Isted.
Acquaye into the box and went down as he went past Knowles on 15, but there were no loud shouts for a penalty and Forest Green cleared their lines.
Digie caused problems in the area when Cullinane-Liburd's throw from the right dropped at his feet on 18, but there was no way through the defence in front of him, and Mols found similarly a minute later.
Lynch then came close when Mols released him into the right of the area, but his right footed strike went wide and behind the net.
McAllister rifled a shot against the Lambs defence for a corner on the left on 22, which Singh collected, and after a period of keep ball The Lambs advanced on goal.
Acquaye did all the hard work to get past Knowles on 29 but over-hit his cross and from a Kurtaran freekick to the back of the area on 32, Rye headed against a covering Rovers defender for a Lambs corner which Rye headed into the arms of Isted.
The Lambs went very close to an opening goal on 35 when Creaney's header was parried on the line by Isted and Rye followed up from 8 yards but his shot span wide of the mark.
As the first half drew to a close, a Rovers flagkick from the clubhouse corner of the ground on 43 span in the box and out past the far post and one minutes added time was shown and Milnes was not quite able to pull the ball across the box for Acquaye to shoot before the whistle blew.
HT: 0-0
Tamworth restarted proceedings but it was Rovers who had the first chance, with McAllister heading on target straight into the grateful arms of Singh.
The Lambs responded with a meaningful attack but Mols chip into the area was headed away with Creaney and Lynch waiting to pounce.
Kurtaran saw his 25 yards strike deflect up and out for a corner on the right on 51 and Creaney's header from the flagkick span off to the left of the far post.
At the other end, Nwoko struck left footed from 25 yards and skimmed the outside of the left hand post as the visitors enjoyed a spell of prolonged possession and Fairlamb threw himself in the way of the ball twice to deny Rovers clear sights on goal around the 58 minute mark.
Creaney's persistence allowed Lynch to strike from the right of the box on 61, but it took a partial block and ended in the side netting, for a corner on the right which eventually fell to Digie but his snap shot ballooned up and over the target.
Lynch made headway down the right but there was no one on hand to get near his low cross into the area and it rolled out for a goalkick past the far post, shortly before Rovers made a double change, but substitute Osude was unable to continue 7 minutes after coming on.
A superb pass cross field from Kurtaran to Acquaye on the left allowed the latter to find Lynch into the area with a lofted pass and it looked like he may have a sight on goal, but Isted was quick to knock it away from him before he could shoot.
McAllister cut across the edge of the box before smashing a shot wide of the mark on 78 and Milnes was replaced by Riley with just under ten remaining.
Lynch and Mols combined but couldn't get a shot away on 84, and the latter rolled it for Acquaye to strike from outside the box but his effort went over the over the target and into the Castle End terrace.
Mols and Riley then combined similarly, but Isted dropped to smother the resulting cross to the near post, and as six minutes added time was shown Creaney sent Lynch through but he was forced wide and was unable to get a sight of the target.
But Creaney was in the right place at the right time two minutes in, sliding in at the far post to convert Mols cross from the right to the delight of the home faithful (1-0, 90+2 mins)
There was just time for McGlinchey to come on for Acquaye, but within seconds the final whistle had blown on another fantastic three point haul at The Lamb.
