Young Lambs Sign First Team Forms and Head Out on Loan

Tamworth FC26 Aug - 10:28

A huge milestone in the Scholarship Programme

Tamworth FC are delighted to announce that a number of players from our U23 and U19 Scholarship programme have signed First Team forms and will now head out on loan across the non-league system.

This is a hugely exciting step for both the players and the club, as our young talent will gain invaluable experience in senior men’s football while continuing their development with us during the week at Tamworth FC.

The move reflects the progress of the Academy in recent seasons, with the U23 Scholarship squad – built from the ground up by Head Coach Morgan Hallett – now producing players ready to take the next step into the First Team environment. Hallett has also worked tirelessly to source these loan agreements, ensuring the players have the right opportunities to challenge themselves in competitive men’s football.

The loan spells will give each player the chance to experience the physicality, pace, and pressure of men’s football on a weekly basis — a vital step in their footballing journey. Crucially, while they gain minutes out on loan, they will continue to train at the Lamb each day with the First Team and Academy staff, allowing them to refine their skills, improve tactically, and build the habits needed to succeed at senior level.

First Team Manager Andy Peaks said:
“This is a fantastic step for the club. We’ve seen how hard the young lads have worked, and giving them the chance to play men’s football is crucial for their development. It’s important they’re tested in competitive environments and I’m looking forward to seeing how they progress while still being part of what we’re building at Tamworth.”

Academy Manager Tim Dudding added:
“We’re really proud of the progress these players have made, and it’s credit to the staff and coaches involved. The pathway from our Scholarship to the First Team is becoming stronger all the time, and these loan moves give the lads a brilliant opportunity to take the next step in their careers.”

This milestone underlines the club’s commitment to youth development, providing a clear route from the Academy to the First Team while preparing players for the demands of senior football.

We wish all of our young Lambs the very best as they begin their loan spells and look forward to seeing them return with valuable experience under their belts.
