Tamworth midfielder Teo Kurtaran is in high spirits as he aims to continue his pre season form as the National League campaign kicks off in just over a week.
Teo added another assist to his pre-season tally in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Macclesfield FC, making it two goals and three assists this pre-season. The midfielder’s first half corner found the head of Dan Creaney to give The Lambs the advantage in the 32nd minute.
Kurtaran said afterwards: “Last season I didn’t score in the league which I was disappointed about so I’m looking to add more goals and assists this season.
“I feel very fit and hungry for the season to start, it’ll obviously be a big challenge away at Boreham Wood but I think the boys are ready and all raring to go.”
Kurtaran was full of praise for the majority of the performance against a strong Macclesfield team, saying: “I thought we started the game quite well, the intensity was high given some of our recent performances.
“We grew into the game more towards the back end of the first half when we started to really show our quality going forward and defensively.
“We had spells in the second half along with moments we can work on. Shout-out to the boys at the back and Jas in goal, I thought they definitely held it down and we were very solid in both transition and a low block.”
Entering his second year at the club, Teo was one of only 10 members of last season’s squad to continue into this campaign.
He said: “The new boys have been great both on and off the pitch, I think they’ve felt really settled and that’s credit to the older boys and the ones who’ve been here a while.
“Every new changing room we make sure the new boys are settled so there is no problems there. We are looking forward to getting going.”
For now, thank you for all your support at home during pre-season and a reminder that we end our preparations with a trip to AFC Telford this Saturday and you can get your tickets for that game HERE.
