This Tuesday evening at 7:45pm we host a young Aston Villa team at The Lamb as we continue to build up towards the start of the 2026/27 National League season. This game is our penultimate home pre season test and our fifth pre season friendly in total. The previous four have seen three wins including an impressive performance last time out against Stoke City u21’s, which was just the reaction manager Andy Peaks was after.

Peaks said: “It was about finding a way to be better than we were against Port Vale and we were, the shape was good and there was a lot of positives to come out of it.

“It was a great strike from Olly to give us the lead and I’m so happy for Jake because he got into some great areas and maybe had other chances he felt he should have scored, so I’m glad he got his goal.

“I think the game against Villa will be a similar test, they’ve got some good young players who are learning their trade and it’ll be a good opportunity to get some more minutes into the lads legs.”

Stuart Bywater will be back on commentary for fans unable to attend tomorrow night.
