Tamworth Draw Leyton Orient at Home in FA Cup First Round

Tamworth FC13 Oct - 18:10

“The magic of the Cup returns to The Lamb as the Lambs prepare to host League One opposition.”

Tamworth FC have been handed a home tie against League One side Leyton Orient in the Emirates FA Cup First Round, with the game set to take place at The Lamb Ground on the weekend commencing Saturday 1st November.

The draw marks another exciting chapter in the club’s proud FA Cup history, as Andy Peaks’ side prepare to test themselves against EFL opposition in front of a home crowd.

Manager Andy Peaks shared his thoughts following the draw:

“We’re delighted to get a home draw — it’s going to be a tough test against a very good League One side, but it’s one we can really look forward to as a club. Every tie at this stage is difficult, and this one will be no different. There’ll be plenty of eyes on us after what we achieved last year, but the lads will give everything once again. We’ll be fully prepared for the challenge and hopefully we can do everyone proud. We’re really looking forward to welcoming Leyton Orient to The Lamb.”

FA Cup Record and History

This season marks Tamworth’s 89th possible FA Cup campaign — having entered in all but three seasons since formation (missing the first, third, and the 1946–47 season, when the club famously forgot to send off the entry forms!).

Across the club’s 246 FA Cup matches, the Lambs have recorded 115 wins, scoring 435 goals and conceding 369.

FA Cup round appearances:
• 4th Qualifying Round – 28 times
• 1st Round Proper – 15 times
• 2nd Round Proper – 7 times
• 3rd Round Proper – 4 times

The club’s record FA Cup goalscorer is Graham Jessop, who netted 14 goals in the competition.

In total, Tamworth have faced 126 different opponents in the FA Cup — with the most frequent meetings coming against Nuneaton (12 times), Burton Albion (11), and Hednesford Town (10).

The tie against Leyton Orient will be another proud occasion for the club and supporters alike, as the Lambs look to add another memorable moment to their FA Cup story.

More details on fixture dates, kick-off time, and ticket information will be confirmed in due course.
