Andy Peaks has spoken of his pride in adding SEVEN new academy scholars to his first team squad on professional contracts for the first time ever.
The Tamworth boss described this historical landmark as a “great achievement” and a powerful indication that youngsters at the club can progress up into National League action.
He said: “We are immensely proud of the academy and what is coming through, we used some of the lads already last year in the Birmingham Senior Cup.
“To have seven of them signing with us is a great achievement, and I’m looking forward to having them with me and also watching them continue their football education by going out on loan to non league sides.”
The academy has been very successful in recent years with the u19 team having won back to back league titles in the last two seasons.
It is a massive achievement to have so many of our scholars signing professional terms with the first team and really highlights the incredible pathway Tamworth presents to young footballers. Everyone at the club is excited to watch these players develop as they go out on loan and gain valuable non-league experience.

Under 19 top goal scorer, Taylor Wyse joins Under 23 top talisman, Adam Jasper in joining Andy Peaks’ squad for the upcoming season. Jasper has made an impact in the Tamworth first team as he scored crucial goals on their route to Birmingham Senior Cup success.

The last scholar to seal the deal is Lucas Brown, Lucas signs professional terms after a tough end to last season being out injured, despite the injury Brown has impressed throughout his time at Tamworth and it’s no shock he’s in the managers plans.
Academy Director and first team coach, Tim Dudding said: "These seven players signing first-team contracts is a fantastic achievement and a clear demonstration of what we're building at Tamworth FC.
“Our academy is about more than developing good footballers – it's about creating a genuine pathway where talented young players know they have the opportunity to progress into senior football through hard work, commitment and the right attitude.
“We're proud to provide an environment where players can develop both on and off the pitch, and these signings should inspire every player within the academy to believe that the pathway is real.
“Congratulations to all seven players – they've earned this opportunity, and we look forward to seeing them continue their journey with the club.”
