Contract Type- Voluntary/ Unpaid placement
Start Date- Flexible start( 8TH - 10TH August)

About the Role

Tamworth Football Club is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic sports scientist to support the physical preparation, performance monitoring, and development of our U19 and U23 squads for the upcoming 26/27 season.

This is an excellent opportunity for a university student or recent graduate seeking practical experience in a competitive football environment to develop their applied sport science skills, gain exposure to learn and build their philosophy, and work with some highly skilled and experienced PDP coaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of warm-up training and Match days, recovery sessions, and conditioning sessions for the u19’s and U23S teams when acquired.
• Lead the collection and analysis of U23’s GPS data.
• Monitor player workloads, training loads, and wellness metrics.
• Assist with fitness testing and player profiling throughout the season.
• Support injury prevention strategies and return-to-play processes alongside Academy coaching and
medical staff.
• Prepare performance training and match reports for the U23S head coach and Head of Sport Science
• Attend all training sessions and U23’s matchdays(Home and Away) as required.

Essential Requirements

• Currently studying or recently completed a degree in Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, Sports Performance, or a related field.
• Strong interest in football performance and athlete development.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliable, professional, and enthusiastic attitude.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working within a football or another team sport environment.
• Knowledge of GPS systems, athlete monitoring software( Hawkin’s dynamics, VALD)
• FA Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or equivalent.
• Experience in using Power BI and, Excel for performance dashboards.What You Will Gain
