Peaks Praises Players as Tamworth Extend Unbeaten Run

Tamworth FC4 Apr - 17:20

Lambs Boss Reflects on Rest, Maidenhead Challenge, and Morrison’s Departure

Tamworth FC manager Andy Peaks was in an upbeat mood this week after his side extended their unbeaten streak to eight games. With a packed schedule since the turn of the year, Peaks revealed that the squad was given a well-earned break from training over the past two Tuesdays.

“After a busy period with virtually two games every week, we decided to give the lads some time off,” Peaks explained. “They have worked incredibly hard and given everything to the club, so we felt the rest would do them good. In fact, when we looked at the data and stats from Saturday’s game—after having a break the previous Tuesday—the figures were unbelievable!”

While the players took some time to recover, Peaks himself remained busy, featuring as a pundit on DAZN TV during the halftime break of live matches.

Focus Shifts to Maidenhead

With preparations underway for Saturday’s trip to Maidenhead, Peakes expects a tough encounter as the home side fights for survival.

“Maidenhead are in a relegation spot, so it’s a must-win game for them,” he noted. “That changes the dynamics from just a few weeks ago, but it also presents opportunities for us to exploit. It should be an interesting match.”

Farewell to Morrison

Last Saturday also marked the departure of midfielder George Morrison, who has joined Fleetwood Town. Peaks paid tribute to the influential player and was pleased to see him make his debut for his new club on Tuesday evening.

“I was glad George got the reception he deserved—he’s been immense for us,” Peaks said. “He breaks play down, keeps possession well, and has a bright future ahead. It’ll be great to see how far he goes in the game.”

With momentum on their side, Tamworth will look to continue their impressive run when they take on Maidenhead this weekend.
