The Glovers took the lead, but it was Jake Hutchinson who levelled just before half time. Yeovil made it 2-1 in the 53rd minute, and added a third goal just after the hour mark. Kieren Donnelly got a goal back for Tamworth almost immediately, and the Lambs came close to equalising in the 89th minute, but Haydn Hollis’ finish was ruled out for offside.

Peaks said: “Frustrated not to get anything out of the game, to be honest.

“They’ve started the season well and played good football. We had a good game plan here on how we could catch them, and I thought we were a threat from the first minute to the 98th minute, to be honest. We keep saying that we can’t concede so many goals and expect to get much out of the game, really. That’d be the one point I’d make, but the other point I’d make is I think we did enough in their half to have got something out of it.”

Hollis’ late goal was initially given, but after a lengthy delay, the assistant referee decided that it was offside and the score would remain at 3-2.

Peaks said: “I was disappointed with the first one when Morgan scored.

“I’ve watched that back, and I thought that was very harsh as I think there were people in the six yard box when they give offside. That one at the end, for me, I’ve been and spoken to the referee and his assistants respectfully and in the right way, they could see I was frustrated.

“My problem is that whether it was offside or not, they haven’t got VAR, so I think it was a big call to go back on the decision they’d made because both the referee and the assistant gave the goal. Then something changed. I feel hard-done-by. I’ve since watched it back and I think it was a goal anyway. We’re frustrated, but we’ve got used to that, it’s us against the world. That’s what we’re all about at Tamworth. In general, I think the lads put a real shift in. We could have easily took a point.”

Discussing the performance in general, he said: “I thought the character was good.
“I thought the general performance was good from a lot of the players. There was a lot of positives to take from it. I’m frustrated that we haven’t took anything, but it’s a long way to come. At 3-1, they could have just rolled over, they didn’t roll over, the longer it went on, it looked like we were going to get back in it. There’s a lot of positives, that’s the sort of performance I want.

“Disappointed to concede the goals, again. We’ve got to stop conceding. A little bit of luck, two of their goals deflected, whereas nothing seemed to drop for us. Their goalie made some excellent saves, we had enough chances to win two games and looked really good in transition. So there was positives to take, but at the moment I’m disappointed because I wanted to take something out the game. I felt we could’ve easily done that, but when we look at the bigger picture, performance-wise there was a lot of positives to take.”
