The Lambs are on a high after their dramatic late victory on Friday evening at home to Worthing, as two stoppage time goals saw them turnaround a defeat to win 3-2. Jack Wadham opened the scoring just before half time with Dan Creaney levelling with a header after the restart.

The visitors edged in front again on the 72nd minute with a strike from Jose Marquez, but two dismissals for Worthing in the final 15 minutes saw them playing with nine men. One of those red cards was for a handball in the penalty box, which was duly converted by Nathan Tshikuna in the 94th minute. Four minutes later, Morgan Roberts struck the ball in off the crossbar to turn the game around and win 3-2.

It was the first win of the season for Tamworth, with performances against Boreham Wood, AFC Fylde and FC Halifax Town being overshadowed by individual errors.
Andy Peaks said: “We spoke at half time and said there’s not a lot wrong; we haven’t made individual errors which we have in previous games.

“It was some finish in the end. A lot of excitement, and brilliant to come out on the right side of a game such as that. Overall, really pleased. We wanted to get some points on the board, we knew Worthing would be a good team, and at times it didn’t look like it was going to happen for us. One thing the lads did, they believed in it.”

Josh Bailey is still sidelined for the Lambs after picking up an injury in pre-season, and will be integrated back into training soon.

THE OPPOSITION

Founded in 1895 as Yeovil Casuals, Yeovil Town are the biggest and most reputable football club in Somerset.

They have had a tumultuous last decade, with previous experience in the EFL as recently as 2019. During the tenure of long-serving chairman John Fry, they reached the Championship in 2013 after beating Brentford in the League One playoff final.

After Fry stepped down, a difficult period behind the scenes affected on-pitch performances, with them ending up in the National League South in 23-24. However, Mark Cooper’s side cruised to the title, winning by 11 points and earning promotion at the first time of asking.

The Glovers often have a reputation for going deep into the cup competitions, too. They were winners of the FA Trophy in 2002, beating Stevenage Borough at Villa Park, and have had two lengthy cup runs in recent years. In 2022, they hosted AFC Bournemouth at Huish Park, falling to a 3-1 defeat, four years after losing at home to Manchester United in the Fourth Round.

WHO'S IN THE DUGOUT?

Billy Rowley was appointed in November 2025.

He spent four years in the dugout at Walton & Hersham, and was part of the team that finished third at Step 3 in 24/25. His start to last season included a 6-3 win against Plymouth Parkway, a 6-0 win at home to Tiverton Town, and 4-0 victory against Weymouth.

He was then recruited by the Glovers, where he led them to a 16th place finish in the league as well as an FA Trophy quarter-final.

ONE TO WATCH

Luke McCormick currently leads the way for goalscorers at Huish Park, scoring three goals, including a brace against Gateshead. He has been with the Glovers since 2025.

“I think it’s massive to pick something up [against Worthing.] When you’ve lost the last two, it’s important you bounce back and all of a sudden you look at it with four from four. It looks a lot healthier.

“Yeovil away is always a tough fixture. We’ve been there before and it’s not been the best place to go. It’s a big pitch, they’ve got a good team this year as well, so that’s going to be really hard. The group as a whole, to get that first win gives everyone a lift.
“We’ve been close with some of the other games. We’ve been in games and made stupid errors and been punished. We’ve found a way, three points on the board, and a great start to the weekend.”
