The visitors from the South Coast, nicknamed The Rebels, earnt promotion from the National League South under Adam Hinshelwood, winning the league with 84 points.

They’ve started the season brightly, winning two games from three in the National League so far. A 3-2 win at Carlisle on the opening day came before a defeat to Forest Green Rovers a week later, but they were back to winning ways last weekend at home to Wealdstone.

Tamworth, meanwhile, may still be on the hunt for their first win of the season, the Lambs last outing ended in a 4-1 defeat to fellow National League side FC Halifax Town, with the opposition capitalising on mistakes from Tamworth and TJ Bramble grabbing the only consolation goal for the away team.

Despite his sides' results, Andy Peaks has been pleased with the general level of performances over the last four games.

He said: “I’ve been disappointed with the results of the first three games, but when I look at the performances, we’ve matched every team for most of the game. The reason why we haven’t got the points we’d like to is because we’ve made individual errors at key times that have been punished. We have to eradicate the mistakes and maintain a lot of the other stuff we’ve been doing.”
