FRESH FACES AT THE LAMB

FRESH FACES AT THE LAMB

Tamworth FC25 Jun - 19:00

Meet your fifth and sixth summer signings!

Andy Peaks is thrilled to confirm that Tom Handley and Tommy Fogarty will be part of the Tamworth squad for the upcoming National League campaign.

Handley joins The Lambs after spending four seasons at Merthyr Town FC, who spent last season in the National League North after winning the Southern League Premier Division in 2025 - a moment Handley describes as “his standout achievement.”

The versatile defender, who can also operate in midfield, joins off the back of an impressive season last time out where he made an impact in both boxes. Finding the net on seven occasions shows he’s got an eye for goal as well as a determination to keep clean sheets.

He said: “I’m a hardworking player who likes to contribute in both boxes and I will always give my all for the club.

“I chip in with the odd goal too and scoring a hat-trick last season, away to Macclesfield, which included two free-kicks, is definitely a career highlight on a personal level!

“I can’t wait to get going again and I’m delighted to have signed for Tamworth as the club enters an exciting new era.”

Lambs boss Andy Peaks says: “It’s fantastic to get Tom on board. He’s a bright young man who has proven his quality in the National League North, and he’s hungry to make the step up with Tamworth.

“What stands out about him is his commitment, versatility and defensive astuteness. We’re really looking forward to what he can bring to the group, and it’s great to welcome him to the club."

Joining Handley as part of the playing staff for this season is former Birmingham City academy product, Tommy Fogarty.

Fogarty has been capped 16 times for Northern Ireland at Under 21 level, including a European Championship Qualifier against England. He said: “My career highlight so far is keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against an England Under 21 side full of Premier League players.”

The Defender spent last season on loan from Birmingham at Morecambe and Boston United where he came to The Lamb as an opposition player. Fogarty explained: “Having been an opposition player at The Lamb, I’m excited to now experience that support on a regular basis.

“I’m hoping to bring an energy that can push for success and a mindset that can help the team achieve the best defensive record possible.”

The manager is certainly looking forward to welcoming Fogarty, saying: “Tommy is a strong and aggressive defender who loves defending! His versatility, attitude and winning mentality will be a big boost for us this season.”

Both players are looking to make an immediate impact as we start to prepare for the upcoming season with the whole squad fully focused on kicking off the first campaign under new owners DGI in fine style.

Stay tuned to @TamworthFC for more transfer updates as The Lambs prepare for pre-season.
