
February was a month full of grit and big moments for Andy Peaks’ Lambs, with Tamworth putting together an unbeaten run in the Enterprise National League and delivering plenty of drama along the way.
The month began with cup action on Tuesday 3rd February as Tamworth progressed in the Birmingham Senior Cup with a 2 1 victory over Alvechurch. Kurtaran brought the Lambs level before Maher struck late to complete the turnaround and send Tamworth into the next round.
League action resumed on Saturday 7th February at home to Hartlepool United. A competitive encounter ended 1 1, with Mols on target to ensure the points were shared.
Another away test followed on Tuesday 10th February as Tamworth travelled to Morecambe. After twice falling behind, the Lambs showed their resilience once again, with Cullinane Liburd equalising in the first half before Lynch struck late on 84 minutes to secure a deserved 2 2 draw.
Valentine’s Day brought further drama at The Lamb as Tamworth hosted Aldershot Town. Reduced to ten men early on, the Lambs still managed to take the lead through Lynch in the second half, only for the visitors to equalise deep into stoppage time in a 1 1 draw.
Cup heartbreak followed on Tuesday 17th February in the National League Cup semi final. Maher levelled the tie against West Ham United, but despite a spirited performance, Tamworth were undone late on in a 3 1 defeat.
The Lambs returned to league action on Saturday 21st February with a disciplined 0 0 draw away at Boston United, denying the hosts a fifth consecutive victory and extending Tamworth’s unbeaten league run.
One of the standout performances of the season arrived on Tuesday 24th February as Tamworth swept aside Altrincham 5 1 at the Altair Group Community Stadium. Digie opened the scoring before a dominant second half saw Mols, Kurtaran, Rye and Cullinane Liburd all find the net in a ruthless display.
The month ended in style on Saturday 28th February as Boreham Wood were edged out 3 2 in an entertaining contest. Lynch struck twice and Mols added another as the Lambs held firm in the closing stages to secure all three points.
Across the six league fixtures in February, The Lambs collected 10 points from a possible 18, remaining unbeaten and building real momentum in the table. That strong run sees Tamworth close the month sitting 10th in the Enterprise National League, firmly looking up the standings as the season moves into its decisive phase.
