Tamworth FC can confirm that Kwaku Donkor has left the club to join Sutton United for an undisclosed fee.
Donkor departs the Lambs having featured regularly and progressed well during his time at the Altair Group Community Stadium. More recently, competition for places has limited his opportunities, prompting a move in pursuit of a full-time football role.
Tamworth FC manager Andy Peaks said:
“Kwaku was playing regularly for us and had been developing well as a footballer. More recently, his game time has been impacted by the strong form and performances of other players in the squad.
Kwaku has decided to move to Sutton United in search of a full-time football opportunity, which unfortunately we’re not able to accommodate at Tamworth FC at this time. We respect his decision to pursue that opportunity.
We thank Kwaku for his efforts during his time with us and wish him well at Sutton United, as we continue to work with and focus on a group of players who are fully invested in the club and performing to the best of our ability in our remaining league and cup fixtures.”
Everyone at Tamworth FC would like to thank Kwaku for his contribution and professionalism and wish him every success in the next stage of his career.
