Tamworth FC bring their 2025–26 campaign to a close with a Birmingham Senior Cup Final clash against Leamington FC at the Bescot Stadium.
The Lambs head into the final aiming to retain the trophy after last season’s success, where they overcame Burton Albion at the Altair Group Community Stadium. Now, with another opportunity to lift silverware, Andy Peaks’ side will be determined to end an already impressive season on a high.
Having lost just one of their last six matches and securing an 11th-place finish in the Enterprise National League, Tamworth arrive in strong form. Their attacking output has been particularly eye-catching, with 15 goals scored across their last nine league fixtures.
Their final league outing saw Braintree Town visit Staffordshire, with The Lambs delivering a dominant 5–1 victory. Goals from Stefan Mols, Dan Creaney, and Oli Lynch capped off an emphatic performance, with Lynch continuing his impressive loan spell from Luton Town FC by netting his twelfth league goal of the campaign.

Road to the Bescot Stadium
Tamworth’s journey to the final has been anything but straightforward, showcasing both attacking quality and resilience in key moments.
The defence of the Birmingham Senior Cup began with a convincing 3–0 victory over Darlaston Town. Jordan Cullinane-Liburd, Joe Rye, and Oli Lynch were all on the scoresheet to set up a third-round tie against Alvechurch.
That tie proved to be a sterner test, with Alvechurch leading at half-time through Manny Ilesanmi. However, The Lambs responded superbly after the break. Teo Kurtaran equalised in the 76th minute before Ronan Maher struck a dramatic 89th-minute winner to send Tamworth through.
A quarter-final clash with Stourbridge followed, where Tamworth were pushed all the way to penalties. After Jeval Thompson-McKenzie opened the scoring, Haydn Hollis brought The Lambs level to force a shootout. Tom McGlinchey converted to give Tamworth the advantage before goalkeeper Jas Singh produced a crucial save to secure progression.
The semi-final against Redditch United delivered yet more drama. Academy graduate Adam Jasper scored twice alongside a Michael Reindorf goal to put Tamworth in control, but Redditch fought back to force penalties. Once again, The Lambs held their nerve, winning 4–3, with Hollis converting the decisive spot-kick to book their place in the final.

The Opposition
Standing between Tamworth and silverware are Leamington FC, who compete in the National League North.
It has been a difficult league campaign for The Brakes, who finished bottom of the division and were relegated to Step 3 after winning seven of their 46 matches and conceding 90 goals.
Despite their league struggles, their cup form tells a different story. Victories over Halesowen Town and an emphatic 6–0 win against Coleshill Town — featuring a hat-trick from Max Brogan — highlight their attacking threat.
Leamington also benefited from a semi-final bye following Hednesford Town’s withdrawal, meaning they come into the final fresh and just one win away from their first Birmingham Senior Cup triumph since the 1961–62 season.

Match Preview
Form may favour Tamworth, but cup finals are rarely predictable.
Leamington will view this as a chance to end their season on a high, while Tamworth have the opportunity to turn a strong league campaign into a truly memorable one by retaining the trophy.
With confidence high, attacking momentum building, and experience gained from last year’s triumph, Andy Peaks’ side will believe they have what it takes to get over the line once again.
A competitive, high-intensity contest is expected under the lights at the Bescot Stadium.
